Frequently Asked Questions in Memphis, TN

Memphis Porta Pros rents portable toilets, septic pumping, roll-off dumpsters, storage containers, restroom trailers, temporary fencing and handwashing stations across Memphis and the surrounding region. Our customers ask the same 5 questions repeatedly. Here are the answers that matter most.

How many portable toilets do I need?

The count depends on your worker count and shift length. OSHA 1926.51(c)(1) requires 1 toilet facility for 20 workers or fewer; 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers from 20 up; and 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 50 workers at 200 or more. If you're running an event in Memphis, factor in guest volume and duration instead. A wedding with 150 guests for 4 hours needs fewer units than a music festival with 300 people across a full day. See our guide on how many porta potties do I need for the math. Call us with your site details and we'll size it right.

What's the difference between standard and deluxe?

A standard portable toilet holds 60 to 70 gallons and stands about 92 inches tall. It's about 44 by 48 inches on the ground. A deluxe unit adds a flushing mechanism, a hand sanitizer dispenser and better ventilation. Deluxe costs more per day but cuts odor and improves user experience on job sites where workers spend hours daily. For short events or construction sites with high turnover, standard works fine. For deluxe flushable porta potty rentals in Memphis, expect to pay a premium for the upgrade. Standard porta potty rental cost ranges lower because the unit is simpler.

Mobile office trailer rental

Do I need an ADA accessible unit?

Yes, if your site will have visitors or workers with mobility limits. ADA Standards section 213.2 requires that where single-user portable toilet units are clustered, at least 5 percent, and never fewer than one unit, must be accessible. An accessible unit has a 36 inch minimum clear width route, a 32 inch clear door opening, a 60 inch turning circle inside, and grab bars. Memphis sites hosting the public, festivals, markets, outdoor weddings, should include at least one ADA accessible porta potty. Private construction sites may not need one unless workers with disabilities are present. We can advise based on your site.

Event restroom rental

How often do portable toilets get serviced?

Standard service is once per week for up to 10 users over a 40 hour week, per ANSI/PSAI Z4.3. High-traffic sites or events need more frequent visits. We service on a schedule you set. If your Memphis site has 30 workers or more, ask about twice-weekly service. Weekend service runs higher than weekday service. Check our monthly porta potty rental page if you're locking in a long-term rate.

Handwashing station rental

What about septic tank pumping and other services?

Memphis Porta Pros also handles septic pumping, holding tanks, grease interceptors and handwashing stations. A residential septic tank is typically pumped every 3 to 5 years, driven by tank size and household size. Grease interceptors at restaurants get pumped when fats, oils, grease and solids reach 25 percent of the liquid depth. For septic pumping service or grease trap pumping, call with your tank size and we'll quote same-day or next-day service. We also rent restroom trailers for events, roll-off dumpsters for cleanup jobs and temporary fence for site control.

Can I rent a toilet for a single day?

Yes. We rent by the day, weekend, week or month. Daily rates are higher per day than weekly rates, and weekly rates are higher per day than monthly. Call or request a quote to compare durations for your Memphis project.

What if I need a toilet delivered to a remote location?

Delivery needs about 60 feet of straight clearance behind the truck. If your site can't provide that, we'll discuss alternatives with you before confirming the order. Most Memphis locations don't pose a problem.

Do handwashing stations include soap and towels?

No. 29 CFR 1910.141(d)(2) requires washing facilities to be provided with soap and towels or a hand drying device. We deliver the station; you supply the consumables, or we can stock them for an extra fee.

What can't go in a roll-off dumpster?

Hazardous materials, batteries, paint, tires and large appliances are prohibited. See our full list on what cannot go in a dumpster before booking.
